Earlier this year, Alignable, a small business network conducted a poll with over 3,000 business owners to show how much rising inflation was affecting small businesses. The poll uncovered that 86% of small business owners were being hurt by high costs. Vice President Kamala Harris (D) has vowed to help businesses thrive, but Texas Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R) believes that Vice President Harris is playing politics. Criticizing Vice President Harris' policies, Rep. Van Duyne affirms that the vice president is dangerous for small businesses.

During an interview with Fox News' Maria Bartiromo, Rep. Van Duyne dismissed Vice President Harris' claims that she will help small businesses succeed.

"I think it's a campaign talking point," she said. "It's got absolutely no teeth."

Rep. Van Duyne further explained that if Vice President Harris "was concerned about small businesses, why has this administration pushed out over 1.3 trillion dollars of regulations on them in the last three and a half years?" "Why did she vote against the tax cuts and jobs act, which would've helped these businesses? Why, just a few weeks ago, is she introducing new policies that would actually add 5 trillion dollars of additional costs to these businesses?" she further questioned.

The Texas Republican countered the vice president's claims, instead arguing that "if she was concerned about this, she would not have the tax policies that she's had."

"If she was concerned about this, she would've voted for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. She would get Chuck Schumer to pass the bill that we passed out of the House just a few months ago that would help small businesses, and she would revert to Trump's policies," Rep. Van Duyne asserted.

Under President Donald Trump (R), she highlighted that his administration was taking away two regulations for every new regulation that was added. This would help small businesses thrive according to her, but "this is exactly the opposite of the Biden-Harris Administration."
