Representative Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) have released statements following the death of Hamas Operations leader infamously known as the architect of the October 7 attack, which led to the death of over 1,000 Israeli civilians in 2023. Sinwar was perhaps the most wanted man in Gaza, and the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) did not even know they had neutralized him after a firefight with opposing forces.
The Israeli military confirmed that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar had been killed in battle. The IDF released a statement announcing that Sinwar had died on Wednesday after a "year-long pursuit."
The statement also noted that "in recent weeks, IDF and ISA forces, under the command of the Southern Command, have been operating in the southern Gaza Strip, following IDF and ISA intelligence that indicated the suspected locations of senior members of Hamas."
Rep. Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL officer, stated that Sinwar met the fate that “he deserved” as he died at the hands of the IDF.

“Another monster bites the dust. Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind behind the October 7th attack that killed more 1,200 men, women, and children – including 46 Americans – finally met the fate he deserved. He was promoted to the chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau less than two months ago. When you lead a life of terror, justice finds you – fast,” said Rep. Crenshaw.
Furthermore, Sen. Cruz agreed that Sinwar was a “monster” and that the world is “better off” without his presence.
Israel is systematically eliminating Hamas and Hezbollah leaders who have been mass murdering Israelis, Americans, and others all over the world for decades. Sinwar was a monster who deserved to be eliminated, and the world will be better off without him.

“Israel is systematically eliminating Hamas and Hezbollah leaders who have been mass murdering Israelis, Americans, and others all over the world for decades,” said Sen. Cruz. “Sinwar was a monster who deserved to be eliminated, and the world will be better off without him. I will always stand with Israel and support its right to defend itself and the Israeli government's obligation to protect its citizens.”
President Joe Biden (D) has announced that he will be speaking with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “to discuss the pathway for bringing the hostages home to their families, and for ending this war once and for all, which has caused so much devastation to innocent people.”
