Over the weekend, both President Donald Trump (R) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) campaigned in Texas. Although the state has historically been considered a "red state," Democrats believe that they have a chance at turning Texas Senator Ted Cruz's (R) seat blue. In the latest episode of Senator Cruz's podcast "Verdict," the Texas senator takes issue with Vice President Harris' focus on abortion at her Houston rally.
In an excerpt of the latest episode of "Verdict," Senator Cruz drew a distinction between events that were respectively hosted in Texas by President Trump and Vice President Harris.
Trump and Kamala's campaign events in Texas could not have been more different.
Kamala promised a free Beyoncé concert that never materialized.
In contrast, Donald Trump spoke about his plan to secure the border, reduce inflation, and protect Americans.https://t.co/E235OMZX4o pic.twitter.com/tKz4TLdnts

Over the weekend, the former president took part in the latest podcast episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, which has over 35,000,000 views. President Trump also took part in a press conference in Austin alongside the family members of people that were killed by illegal immigrants.
In Texas, Vice President Harris also held an event. A rally in Houston saw Vice President Harris bring out Beyonce and Willie Nelson. However, Senator Cruz argues that Vice President Harris' time in Texas was focused on abortion while President Trump focused "on the issue of illegal immigration, which I think is the single most compelling issue in this race."
"Voters say either illegal immigration, border security is the number one issue, or the economy/inflation is the number one issue," Senator Cruz expressed, noting that polls back his argument.
"This rally was powerful," the Texas Republican assessed. "So Trump comes in, and he's up on stage, and behind him he is surrounded by border patrol agents... and then multiple families of those who lost their loved ones to violent criminals who were illegal aliens were there."
Mentioning that Vice President Harris' rally was at a stadium, Senator Cruz accused the vice president of being "concerned she couldn't turn out a crowd," which resulted in her allegedly promoting that Beyonce and Willie Nelson would be at the rally to perform.
