The Texas Senate is delivering for Texans, but the Texas House is lacking according to Texas Rep. Nate Schatzline (R). The Texas congressman took to social media to call out his congressional colleagues, dubbing it “Project Run Out the Clock.”
Rep. Schatzline has joined other Republicans like State Rep. Brian Harrison (R) in calling out the House for not delivering to Texans. Voicing his frustrations in a video posted on X, state Rep. Schatzline criticized the Texas House for its lack of action as they end week four of the legislative session.

“We’re not getting to work,” he bluntly said, expressing his anger over the House’s decision to take a five-day weekend instead of advancing key legislation.
He celebrated the passing of SB 2 this week – a bill that expands school choice in Texas – and he thanked Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick (R), state Senator Brandon Creighton (R), and the Texas Senate for their effort. However, companion legislation has not been introduced in the house because the Texas House has yet to form legislative committees, which is a necessary step before bills can be properly debated and passed.
This delay, state Rep. Schatzline argues, is reminiscent of what happened in the last session when conservative priorities failed to make it through before the deadline.
“This is getting insane. This is getting out of hand,” he cried out in the video.
“The excuse last session, when our priorities – your priorities – died on the floor, it was not ‘it wasn’t a good bill, the merits aren’t good,’ the excuse was we ran out of time,” he explained. “And I’m here to tell you that, out of our entire session, being on week 4, we have around 115 days not including the 5-day weekend that was just issued by our speaker, that we’re about to take.”
“We have so little time to get this work done, and to not have committees is just insane,” he warned.
His comments are the latest in a feud between opposing factions in Texas’ Republican Party.
