Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) has announced that Braven Environmental, LLC, a waste-to-value company specializing in plastic recycling solutions, will open a state-of-the-art advanced recycling facility in Texarkana. The project, part of the Texas Jobs, Energy, Technology, and Innovation (JETI) program, is expected to bring more than $145 million in capital investment to Bowie County.
Governor Abbott praised the initiative, highlighting Texas’ role as a leader in technology-driven manufacturing and economic development.
“Texas is where today’s products are made using tomorrow’s technologies,” Governor Abbott commented. “With a $145 million investment in a state-of-the-art advanced recycling facility in Texarkana, Braven Environmental is making a significant investment in the future of Bowie County and our great state.”

The governor emphasized that economic incentives like the JETI program are crucial for attracting business investments and high-paying jobs, ensuring long-term prosperity across Texas.
Jim Simon, the Braven Environmental CEO, expressed gratitude for the state’s backing, acknowledging the role of local and state government in the company’s decision to establish operations in Texas.
“As we evaluate and prioritize locations for our next Braven sites, the support of state and local governments plays a critical role in our decision-making process,” Simon said in a statement. “We deeply appreciate the strong support we’ve received from the Governor’s Office of the great state of Texas, Hooks ISD, and the TexAmerican Center.”
The new facility will focus on advanced recycling techniques to convert waste plastics into valuable resources, addressing both economic and environmental concerns. In implementing cutting-edge technology, Braven Environmental aims to create a sustainable solution to plastic waste while boosting local job opportunities.
