Early voting began today in the Republican U.S. Senate runoff between Incumbent John Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton, as endorsements and public attacks between supporters of both candidates continue to intensify ahead of Election Day on May 26.
Congressmand Nathaniel Moran (R) announced his endorsement of Sen. Cornyn in a message to his supporters, marking what he described as the first Republican primary endorsement of his congressional career.
"I've spent three years in Congress, and it is easy to see that character and trust are two things we need a whole lot more of," Moran Wrote. "That's why - for the first time ever - I am endorsing in a Republican primary, and I am endorsing John Cornyn for the United States Senate."

Moran acknowledged policy disagreements with Cornyn but defended the senator's character and alignment with President Donald Trump.
"I have not always agreed with every one of John's votes, but his integrity is intact, his motives are pure, and he has stood firmly with President Trump to do the will of the American people," stated Moran.
The congressman also referenced former Congressman Louie Gohmert's endorsement of Cornyn and highlighted criticism Gohmert previously directed at Paxton regarding whistleblower allegations.
Moran urged Republican voters to "vote your values" after reviewing information about the race. Following the endorsement announcement, Cornyn publicly thanked Moran on social media.
The runoff has become one of the most closely watched Republican contests in Texas, with both candidates focusing heavily on immigration, law enforcement, and conservative leadership as they compete for the party's Senate nomination.
With early voting now underway, endorsements from Texas Republicans are becoming increasingly important in shaping the high-profile Cornyn-Paxton runoff, as both campaigns work to consolidate conservative support before Election Day.
