On the final day of runoff voting in Texas, Florida Rep. Byron Donalds (R) endorsed Rep. Chip Roy (R) in the Texas attorney general race, urging voters to support the congressman in a video message.

Rep. Donalds, who is currently running for governor of Florida, praised Rep. Roy's conservative credentials and highlighted their years serving together in Congress and the House Freedom Caucus.

"Good morning, Texas, it's Byron Donalds," said Donalds in the video. "Look, you have a big election today to choose your next attorney general, and that person needs to be Chip Roy."

Donalds continued by calling Roy "tough as nails" and "a true conservative."

"I am telling you, there is nobody you want more for your attorney general than Chip Roy," said Donalds. "He is tough as nails, a true conservative, America first. He is the guy who will never let you down in the great state of Texas."

He concluded the endorsement by encouraging Texans to cast their ballots before polls closed.

"Make sure you go out and vote for Chip Roy to be your next attorney general," said Donalds.

Donalds reiterated his support for Roy, writing, "Texas, today is the day to get out and VOTE for @chiproytx to be your next Attorney General."

Roy responded publicly to the endorsement, writing, "Thank you @ByronDonalds. Honored to be in the political trenches with you in Congress - let's do this!"

Byron Donalds' endorsement adds another prominent conservative voice backing Chip Roy in the closing hours of the Texas attorney general runoff. With the runoff election day underway, Roy's campaign is continuing to rally support from national Republican figures and allies within the conservative movement.
