Beef Loving Texans and Kampgrounds of America (KOA) have launched Savor the Texan Outdoors, a statewide summer campaign promoting outdoor cooking, camping, and family-friendly grilling events across Texas.

The campaign includes free public events, camping resources, and a chance to win a weekend getaway.

What is Savor the Texas Outdoors?

Beef Loving Texans and KOA have partnered to launch Savor the Texas Outdoors, a new campaign encouraging Texans to reconnect through camping, grilling, and outdoor recreation.

The initiative comes as interest in nostalgic camping experiences continues to grow. According to KOA's 2026 Camping and Outdoor Hospitality Report:

  • 50% of consumers want to relive childhood camping memories
  • 55% plan to tent camp this year
  • 44% are interested in learning outdoor cooking techniques

The campaign features grilling recipes, camping inspiration, a free downloadable camping guide, and family-focused outdoor activities throughout the summer.

What events are planned?

As part of the campaign, Beef Loving Texans Pitmaster and Grill Master Jerry McPherson will host free grilling demonstrations at KOA campgrounds across Texas.

Attendees will learn how to grill steaks, prepare campsite meals using leftovers, and improve their outdoor cooking skills.

Each event will also include:

  • Complimentary beef-inspired food
  • Live music
  • Lawn games
  • Family-friendly campground activities

What are organizers saying?

Director of Consumer Marketing for Beef Loving Texans Rachel Chou: "Whether it's a camping trip, an RV getaway, or a backyard cookout, some of our favorite memories are made around beef."

Rachel Chou continued: "Savor the Texas Outdoors is about helping Texans reconnect with those simple moments, like gathering outside, sharing a great meal, and creating new memories with family and friends."

Vice President of the Texas KOA Owners Association, Ethan Rafei: "Whether it's gathering around the grill, enjoying a meal outdoors, or introducing a new generation to camping traditions, these are the kinds of experiences campers are increasingly seeking today."

Why it matters

The campaign combines Texas agriculture, outdoor recreation, and tourism while encouraging more families to explore camping and outdoor cooking. Organizers hope the events will help Texans build new traditions while introducing practical grilling skills and promoting local campgrounds across the state.
