ASP Isotopes subsidiary Quantum Leap Energy has signed a research agreement with the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station to advance uranium conversion technology, supporting efforts to strengthen the domestic nuclear fuel supply chain and expand U.S. energy security.

ASP Isotopes Inc. announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Quantum Leap Energy (QLE), has entered into a research agreement with the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TESS).
The collaboration will focus on advancing the commercial production of high-purity uranium hexafluoride (UF6), a key material used in nuclear fuel enrichment.
According to the company, the partnership reflects growing momentum within Texas' nuclear industry while supporting efforts to expand domestic nuclear fuel production.
Addressing a critical supply chain gap
Uranium conversion transforms yellowcake uranium into uranium hexafluoride, the feedstock required for uranium enrichment.
QLE noted that the United States currently has only one operating commercial uranium conversion facility, making additional domestic conversion capacity important for reducing reliance on foreign suppliers.
The research aims to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and support commercialization of new conversion technologies.

Under the agreement, QLE and TEEs will collect physicochemical data on the chemical reactions involved in converting uranium concentrate into UF6.
