Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM) will invest $200 million in a new 1-million-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility in San Antonio, which is expected to create up to 3,000 jobs by 2030.
What is IEM investing in San Antonio?
IEM announced a $200 million investment in a new advanced manufacturing facility at Brooks City Base in southeast San Antonio. The 1-million-square-foot plant will expand IEM's U.S. manufacturing footprint and increase its ability to produce custom power distribution and control systems.

How many jobs will the project create?
The facility is expected to create up to 3,000 jobs by 2030, including positions in manufacturing, engineering, logistics and corporate support.
The project is being developed in phases, with construction and hiring timelines expected to be announced in the coming months.
Texas Governor Abbott said the investment reflects the state's growing manufacturing center.
Gov. Greg Abbott: "Texas leads America's manufacturing resurgence. This investment by IEM in San Antonio will create new, good-paying jobs and generate a significant economic impact for Bexar County."
Why is the investment significant?
The project represents the largest job-producing investment in the San Antonio region in more than two decades, according to Greater Regional Economic Partnership President and CEO Sarah Carabais Rush.
IEM has invested $300 million over the past five years and added more than 3 million square feet of product development and manufacturing space across its operations.
The San Antonio facility is expected to strengthen IEM's domestic supply chain while supporting customers in industries including healthcare, energy, and advanced manufacturing.
