Texas Representative Dan Crenshaw (R) commended Texas Governor Greg Abbott's seizing of city property along the border at Eagle Pass, TX.
“GOOD. Texas has been using the park as a base to stop illegal immigration while the Biden Administration has allowed it to reach unprecedented levels,” tweeted Rep. Crenshaw.
“The reason Governor Abbott has been hesitant to go this far is because he did not want to put his own state law enforcement officers at odds with federal law enforcement officers. But we should fight that legal battle when/if it comes. If the Biden Administration goes after Texas harder than illegal crossings it tells you all you need to know about their priorities.”
The Texas congressman continued, “The time for action is long past due.”

According to reports, the Texas governor is seizing all city property along the riverfront at the border located in Eagle Pass, TX. State authority has sole access to the property, and border patrol agents will only have access to remove their equipment.
Gov. Abbott’s recent move, which is not connected to S.B. 4, marks a recent escalation in the dispute between the Biden and Abbott administration’s handling of the U.S.-Mexico border.
Gov. Abbott’s statement claimed that he was “holding the line’ at the southern border and reiterated plans to continue his ethically questionable use of razor wire. Furthermore, the Abbott administration plans to use “National Guard soldiers, DPS troopers, and more borders.”
Recently, Texas Representative Sylvia Garcia (D) appeared on CNN to discuss Texas Gov. Abbott’s “discriminatory” new law, S.B. 4.
“This morning I joined @CNN to talk about @GovAbbott’s discriminatory S.B. 4 law. Not all Latinos look the same, we come in all shades and sizes. This law hurts black and brown communities in Texas and it must be changed,” tweeted Rep. Garcia.
The congresswoman made her thoughts clear on the issue. In her response to CNN anchor Victor Blackwell’s questions, she added more questions as to how an officer would be able to tell if someone is an immigrant or not.
“It’s really very simple. The law legitimizes racial profiling. I mean, I’m from South Texas, born and raised. I just spent four days down there with my family. I didn’t see any signs of an invasion. Some of this is just flat rhetoric and made-up stuff and it’s going to severely impact people just driving [and] walking that may look like they’re migrants. I mean, how do you really know someone is an immigrant? You know, when we’ve got people coming from so many different countries.”
