Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) hit a record-breaking second quarter in his reelection bid. Marking the largest in his Senate history, Senator Cruz has raised over $12.6 million in Q2 of 2024 across all entities. The Texas Senator, who's hopefully that he'll be reelected to another term in the Senate, is facing a challenger in Texas Rep. Colin Allred (D).
From his announcement, Senator Cruz's campaign is reporting that he has raised more than $5.6 million more than 2018's Q1 and Q1 combined. The Texas lawmaker had over 222,983 unique contributions with an average contribution of $33.25. So far, he has received contributions from Texans in all 254 counties as well as receiving from supporters in all 50 states.
Nick Maddux, a spokesperson for Senator Cruz's campaign, celebrated the record, commenting that the campaign will "continue to see growing support for Senator Cruz in every corner of the Lone Star State." "This quarter's record-breaking fundraising numbers are indicative of Texans' steadfast support for Senator Cruz, but the job isn't done yet," he added. "Senator Cruz will continue working day in and day out to ensure victory in November to Keep Texas, Texas."
The senator will close out the second quarter will over $22.1 million cash on hand from Senate, LPAC, and JFC's combined, and this includes the coordinated amount with the National Republican Senatorial Committee and the Republican Party of Texas.
Rep. Allred however believes that he will better serve Texans on issues pertaining to reproductive rights and the border. Accusing Senator Cruz of being "all hat, no cattle," the Texas Rep. is hoping to flit Senator Cruz's senate seat blue in November.

In an advertisement released over the weekend, the senate hopeful highlighted the support from law enforcement officers who argue that Rep. Allred would be a stronger candidate for the border. In contrast, Senator Cruz argues that the Biden Administration and Democrats have been soft on the border, calling on the administration to enforce stricter border control.
