The Democratic National Convention (DNC) has come to a close, and Republicans slamming the event. Vice President Kamala Harris (D) formally accepted her nomination for the presidency, and Democrats are now fired up to support the Tim-Walz ticket. However, questions still linger about the vice president's policies. Texas Rep. Colin Allred (D) attended the DNC, but when he was asked if he agreed with the vice president's economic plan, he did not respond. Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) is now slamming his Democratic opponent, citing the encounter as an example that 'Can't Comment Colin' strikes again.
Though Vice President Harris has faced scrutiny over the fact that she has not taken questions from reporters, the now Democratic nominee for the presidency has mentioned some policy positions that have attracted controversy.
At the DNC, Rep. Allred was spotted walking through the convention, and he was approached and asked if he agreed with Vice President Harris' economic plan? The senatorial hopeful however did not give a response. Instead, he answered that he was at the DNC to "have a great time."
Senator Cruz has now shared the exchange on social media, commenting that it's an example of "Can't Comment Colin at it again."
The person questioning the Texas representative also asks him if he agrees with "price fixing." This is in response to Vice President Harris supporting "price control" measures, which have garnered condemnation from conservatives and even outlets like the Washington Post who have questioned her proposal.
Rep. Allred did not respond if he agreed with "price fixing," and Senator Cruz attributes this to his Democratic challenger "hiding" his political positions.
"He's an unserious, radical candidate who refuses to answer basic questions," Senator Cruz wrote on social media. "What is he hiding?"
Since announcing his intention to unseat Senator Cruz, Rep. Allred has struggled in generating momentum for his candidacy. Senator Cruz currently leads him by 2 points according to a recent survey.
