Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) criticized President Joe Biden (D) and Vice President Kamala Harris (D) after reports showed that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) could be loosening its restrictions at the southern border through an app. Senator Ted Cruz (R) was on record recently stating that the left side of the aisle still wants open border policies.

According to The New York Post, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will release an app in December that will permit immigrants to skip an in-person check in with an ICE office. Instead it would allow them to check in through the app.

The app allegedly has severe malfunctions including glitches and an improper ability to track migrants when on an Android or laptop.

“In their final days, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are making it easier for criminals and deadly gangs to enter our neighborhoods,” said Sen. Scott.

He continued, calling this decision from the Biden-Harris administration a “slap in the face” to those who’ve been affected by mass migration in the United States.

”This is a slap in the face to the innocent communities who’ve been rocked by spikes in illegal immigrant crime. We MUST stand against it. This is MADNESS!” concluded Sen. Scott.

This move from the Biden-Harris DHS comes just days after Senator Ted Cruz (R) accused Democrats of remaining in favor of loose immigration policies and open borders.

In an interview with Newsmax, Senator Cruz discussed the Democratic Party's response to the election, positing that they haven't learned from the outcome.

"It really is amazing to see Democrats refusing to listen to the American people, refusing to learn any lessons. Instead, they're doubling down on the same radical policies," Senator Cruz argued. "The Democrat Party today supports fully open borders, supports releasing violent criminal illegal aliens into this country, and that's endangering the safety of every family in America, every child in America," the Texas senator added.

However, Senator Cruz, who campaigned on the same issue, expressed that despite Democrats wanting to keep the status quo, “that’s gonna change, and it’s gonna change very quickly."

Finally, the Texas senator added that the migration crisis could’ve been avoided with proper executive action.

“The vast majority of the damage done – opening up the border – was done through unilateral executive action. The good news of that is anything done through unilateral executive action can be undone through unilateral executive action." Senator Cruz explained.

President-elect Donald Trump (R) is set to take office on January 20.
