Texas Rep. Michael Cloud (R) has introduced the Dismantle DEI Act, a bill designed to permanently eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs from the federal government. Introduced alongside Missouri Rep. Eric Schmitt (R), the bill seeks to codify President Donald Trump’s (R) agenda to remove DEI initiatives.
During an appearance on Newsmax, Rep. Cloud emphasized the urgency of the bill, warning that left-wing policies have been embedded in federal agencies and government contracts for far too long. He hopes that the legislation will be signed into law and that future administrations will be prevented from implementing DEI initiatives.

“It’s awesome to see what President Trump is doing. Really, the common-sense agenda that is sweeping America,” Rep. Cloud celebrated. “On one hand, you’re excited to see this happening. On the other hand, you’re like, ‘this is just common-sense.’ This shouldn’t even be a discussion, but unfortunately, we’ve seen the left push their radical leftist agenda on the American people, and they’ve been doing it quite savvily through the federal government.”
The Texas congressman explained that DEI policies have been woven into grant programs and federal contracts, forcing businesses to comply with ideological mandates in order to work with the government.
“A lot of it’s coming out this week in some of the grant writing that we’ve seen happening, and so it’s important for us to come by as Congress to make sure that we’re codifying this to make sure that no future president can come in and put us down this dystopian path once again,” Rep. Cloud commented.
The bill would not only eliminate existing DEI offices but also prohibit federal agencies from imposing DEI-related requirements on businesses seeking government contracts.
“Our bill basically goes through what President Trump’s done and makes sure that this is not happening,” he explained. “We don’t have these offices throughout the agencies in our federal government, but then a lot of this was being force-fed onto the American people through the grant writing or through contracting.”
“If you had a business that was doing business with the federal government, you would have to have all this operating within your business to be able to have a contract. That’s not what this country’s about. Our bill works to make sure that this never returns to our government and to the American populace,” Rep. Cloud concluded.
