The Secretary of State tweeted Thursday a list of Cuban entities on which the U.S. will impose sanctions, following President Trump's Cuba Executive Order.

- Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP)
- Amistur Cuba S.A.
- Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR)
- Minera La Victoria S.A.

Trump's Cuba Executive Order, announced Monday, serves to impose sanctions on those "responsible for repression in Cuba," aiming to prevent threats to U.S. national security.
In January, the Trump administration first declared Cuba a national security threat. Following the U.S. capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, the administration halted Venezuelan oil deliveries to Cuba.
Months later, the U.S. is increasing economic pressure on the island. Anyone involved with the entities listed above is at risk of sanctions.
"Anyone providing services to these sanctioned actors is at risk of sanctions themselves. Foreign banks and other companies that provide services to these entities should freeze those activities," Rubio wrote on X.
Since February, the U.S. has conducted multiple surveillance flights off the coast of the island, increasing pressure on the Cuban government and gathering intelligence on such entities listed above, particular the MINFAR.

Cuba has been under communist rule for over six decades. The U.S. government has spent month negotiating with the island, hoping to protect U.S. national security.
The new sanctions implemented on Cuba add to the ongoing conflict in the Caribbean.
