A conservative nonprofit is going on offense against Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico, launching a wave of hilarious AI-generated ads in Texas as the Democrat tries to sell himself as a moderate Senate candidate.

Citizens for Sanity, a conservative nonprofit organization on a mission to return common sense to America, is dropping a new satirical digital ad Tuesday called "Moderate," part of a broader campaign push exposing Talarico that is supported by a six-figure statewide media buy. The spot, shared exclusively with Texas Politics, features two characters mocking the very idea that Talarico is a mainstream option for Texas voters, referencing his past statements on the number of biological sexes and his vote against a parents' rights bill.

The ad features a conversation between two far-left Texans, who say:

Person 1: "Ugh, I heard James Talarico is actually a moderate."

Person 2: "Did you know he said there were ONLY SIX biological sexes? OUTRAGEOUS!"

Person 1: "At least he voted against that horrible parents' rights bill."

Person 2: "You're right. I know he's actually one of us."

The full campaign takes aim at Talarico's positions on children’s gender transitions, parents' rights, and immigration; issues that have become top of mind for Texas voters. The buy includes multiple AI-generated spots designed to draw a sharp contrast between Talarico’s out-of-touch and far-left policy ideas and the mainstream Texas electorate.

Talarico, who faces Ken Paxton in November, has staked his general election strategy on appealing to moderates and independents, a pitch that a recent poll showed giving him a narrow 47-44 lead over the attorney general.

Talarico himself acknowledged last week that some past statements on transgender policy "missed the mark,” an opening Republicans say confirms what the CFS ads are designed to show: that his views are out of step with mainstream Texas.
