The House of Representatives voted 215-208 on Wednesday to curb the President's Iran war powers, with four Republicans joining Democrats to support the resolution.
What will the resolution do? The concurrent resolution would call on Trump to terminate the use of U.S. armed forces against Iran, its military and government unless a declaration of war or authorization to use force is approved.

What happens now? The bipartisan resolution will now go to the senate. However, even with support from the Senate, a concurrent resolution does not carry the weight of law and will not be presented to the president for a veto.
This was the fourth attempt by House Democrats to create a war powers resolution. Due to bipartisan support, the resolution has passed through the House.
"Congress has followed the Constitution today -- Democrats and Republicans said enough is enough," said Meeks.
Although six Republicans were absent for the vote, the legislation still would have passed.
The Trump administration has expressed concerns over the resolution taking away the President's power to negotiate. As the first war powers legislation to pass since the beginning of the war, Trump's power in the Iran war may dwindle.
